About Me
Full-Stack Developer & Technology Consultant based in Cascade, Iowa.
Hey, I'm Brad Miller.
I've been building websites and web applications professionally since 2003. What started as a Computer Science degree from Clarke College in Dubuque grew into graphic design work at a bank holding company, and then into full-stack development, custom business software, mobile apps, and eventually the full picture: from first sketch to live Linux server.
I launched Solar Pixel in 2006 and have been running it solo ever since — which means when you hire me, you actually get me. No account managers, no junior hand-offs, no ticket queues. Just direct access to the person writing your code.
What I Bring to the Table
UI/UX Design
Visual design, wireframing, brand identity, and user experience that converts visitors into customers.
Full-Stack Development
Front-end to back-end: HTML/CSS/JS, React, PHP, Node, databases, REST APIs, and custom application logic.
Mobile Apps
Progressive web apps and hybrid mobile apps that work beautifully across iOS and Android.
AI Integration
Practical AI and automation built into your business workflows — not buzzwords, real solutions.
E-Commerce & Ordering
Custom sales, ordering, and payment systems. $5M+ in transactions processed through systems I've built.
Linux Server & Hosting
I manage my own Linux servers and host client sites — giving you hands-on infrastructure support, not generic shared hosting.
How I Think About Your Project
Most developers will build whatever you spec out. I prefer to ask why first. After two decades of seeing what works and what doesn't, I bring a consulting mindset to every project — helping you figure out what to build, not just building what you ask for.
I work with a small number of clients at a time, which means you get real attention and direct communication — not a project manager and a ticket queue.
Technologies I Work With
Let's Work Together
Whether you have a detailed spec or just an idea on a napkin, I'm happy to have a conversation about what you're trying to build.
When I'm Not Coding
My personal time is spent with my large family and growing in faith, while occasionally sneaking away to run, play some volleyball, or just enjoy the outdoors. Feel free to reach out to start a discussion about your project needs — or even just to chat!
